Agency History

Jeff “Frog” Greer founded Greer Insurance in 1990.

Frog was a 1982 graduate of Meade County High School where he was a proud member of the Greenwave football team. He then graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1987 where he earned his BBA in Marketing.

Frog served in many positions to help improve and give back to the community that he so greatly loved. In addition to owning and managing Greer Insurance, he served on the Meade County School Board of Education from 1993-2006 and he was the Kentucky State Representative for District 27 from 2006-2019, where he also served as the Chairman of the Banking and Insurance Committee. Jeff was a member and former Director of the Big I Kentucky (an insurance industry association), a member and Former Director of the Meade County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Rotary Club; and a member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church.

He was honored to serve Meade County and worked hard on behalf of his community. Some of his proudest accomplishments include new road and infrastructure projects like Hwy 313, and his influential role in raising Kentucky’s “dropout age” to 18 years old. As a result of his many achievements and contributions, he was recently inducted into the Meade County Alumni Hall of Fame on June 7th, 2025.

Frog was well known and loved by many! He liked to have fun, enjoyed all sports, playing games, socializing, and especially enjoyed billiards with many different teams, including “Frog’s Dogs”.
